Noir Film Guide exists because most film sites treat noir as a footnote. Every ranking on this site comes from someone who has actually watched the films — over 5,780 films watched, rated, and thought about. Not aggregated from Rotten Tomatoes. Not generated from a list of lists.
The goal is simple: help people find great noir films they have not seen yet, whether that is a 1944 Fritz Lang or a neo-noir from 2014 that got buried on release.
The site covers classic film noir (1940–1960), neo-noir (1960s to present), and adjacent genres including giallo, French noir, international noir, and pre-code Hollywood.
